Make a Punk Rock Leather Jacket

If you refuse to dress like the "in-crowd" and prefer your closet full of punk rock clothes, your wardrobe is not complete without a punk rock leather jacket. Express your irreverent style after you learn to make your own punk rock jacket.

Step 1Shop for a punk rock leather jacket. Purchase a short leather jacket that has several zipper pockets. Find these jackets at specialty stores alongside other punk rock clothes or purchase them at an online punk store.
Step 2Apply spikes and studs to your punk rock jacket. Push a stud up against the jacket to leave an indention for placement. Remove the stud and insert the dart. Push the dart through the leather jacket where the indention was. Remove the dart to see a small hole. Insert a stud or spike into the hole. Bend back the prongs of the stud or spike to fasten it. Repeat the same process for any studs or spikes you add.
Step 3Paint on band names. Practice drawing your favorite punk rock band names or logos several times before attempting to paint them on your jacket. Acrylic paint is permanent and almost impossible to remove from your jacket or your clothes. If unsure, make a stencil of your favorite band logo using cardboard and a razor blade. Test the stencil on paper before you use it to paint on your jacket.
Step 4Add screen printed patches to your jacket. Find patches promoting your favorite punk rock bands. Use patches with favorite expressions and sayings. Choose a spot and stitch the patches to your punk rock leather jacket. If you are uncomfortable with hand-stitching, use Liquid Stitch to permanently apply the patches. Refrain from getting the Liquid Stitch on your clothes. It is difficult to remove.
Step 5Make the jacket your own. The most important thing to consider when making your punk rock leather jacket is to make it reflect your personality. Punk rock is about individuality.
you are the only one who feels betrayed
the first time in my life
a plan to make all of this right
it's your turn
Who are you?
